Lochwood Academy of Performing Arts has been an incredible experience for our family. The staff is welcoming, professional, and truly passionate about the arts. A special shout-out to Mindy, who teaches piano to my kids—she’s an absolute gem! Her patience, creativity, and ability to connect with each child has made learning music not just fun but inspiring. My kids look forward to every lesson and have grown so much under her guidance. Highly recommend Lochwood Academy and especially Ms. Mindy for anyone looking to nurture a love of music in their children!
Hi, I’m Mindy Byerts—the Studio Director here at Lochwood Academy.
As a passionate clarinet and piano instructor with years of experience, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing students grow and develop their love for music.
But more important than the notes they play… are the life skills they build along the way.
Because learning music is so much more than just reading sheet music and practicing scales.
It’s about developing confidence, discipline, creativity, and perseverance.
With every lesson, students strengthen their focus, determination, and self-expression. Music provides instant positive feedback—helping them see and feel their progress, boosting their self-esteem, and encouraging a lifelong love for learning.
And of course… it’s a ton of FUN!
That’s why I love teaching music in this community, and why I know your child is going to LOVE their musical journey.
