Hi, I’m Mindy Byerts Hogaboom—the Studio Director here at Lochwood Academy.
As a passionate clarinet and piano instructor with years of experience, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing students grow and develop their love for music.
But more important than the notes they play… are the life skills they build along the way.
Because learning music is so much more than just reading sheet music and practicing scales.
It’s about developing confidence, discipline, creativity, and perseverance.
With every lesson, students strengthen their focus, determination, and self-expression. Music provides instant positive feedback—helping them see and feel their progress, boosting their self-esteem, and encouraging a lifelong love for learning.
And of course… it’s a ton of FUN!
That’s why I love teaching music in this community, and why I know your child is going to LOVE their musical journey.
